Complete this project according to the instructions in class.
1. Find the following images from the internet.
a. a sculpture
b. an eye, an ear or a mouth
c. a landscape
d. an electronic item
2. Open Photoshop, make a new file ,resolution 72, RGB, transparent contents. Save this file as "assessment" in your "3rd Quarter Graphic Design Folder"
3. Bring in each of the four images into the file.
Resize each of the images as you bring them in so they fit on the page.
4. Make four copies of the landscape.
5. Transform each of the landscape images to create the four sides of a room. (see illustration)
6. Turn on the sculpture layer, delete the background of the sculpture and position it on the floor of
the room.
7. Create a window in the left wall of the room with the polygonal lasso tool.
Create a light source from the window using the polygonal lasso tool, fill with white, change the blending
mode or the opacity to create a light source.

Lighten or darken the walls so they match the light source.
8. Create a ledge for the window.
9. Turn on the Sculpture layer, delete any background that may be included in the image.
Place the image on the floor of the room.

Create a drop shadow which falls on the floor and the wall on the right.

10. Incorporate the other images creating patterns and using the blending modes. The Blending modes are in the layers palette. The blend modes will
change the way one layer interacts with another.

11. Continue working on the image until the composition is a clear depiction of an idea. If you would like to create new walls for your
room using different images, you may do so now. Be sure you still utilize
all four required images.
12. Make subtle color and contrast changes to each layer to create a more unified composition. Manipulate the color and the contrast of each of the layers so the composition looks cohesive. Use Image / adjust / color balance or image / adjust / curves to change the colors of individual layers. Use Image / adjust / brightness and contrast to make the images appear to "match". This process is subtle, do not make dramatic changes here.
13. Save your work in the your 3rd quarter folder
