Project: Earth Day Stamp
In this project you will look at the work of the artist Peter Max. Your theme will be based on the design of a 37 cent stamp.

You will create two separate projects; one is the Earth Day DEsign based on the work of Peter Max; the second is the stamp design using the Earth Day file.
Follow the process and listen to the instructions in class to complete the work.
Process:
RESEARCH:

Find ten facts about Earth Day and copy the facts to Word, save the file.

PHOTOSHOP WORK:
 Find five images which relate to Earth day and open them in a Photoshop file. Create a collage in Photoshop using the images. The collage MUST be SYMMETRICAL. in Photoshop. When complete, merge the layers and Posterize the work. ( image/ adjust / posterize)

ILLUSTRATOR WORK:
Open this collage in Illustrator.
Use the Internet to Explore the work of Peter Max,
Open two images in Photoshop and save them. You will be using these images for color references.
Using the technique we reviewed in class, copy six colors from the photoshop file to the illustrator swatches palette.
Trace over the imported collage using the pen tool in the same manner as the previous two projects.
use the color from the Peter Max images to fill the design. Use gradients and gradient blends where applicable.
Finish the design by adding required text and any other elements you desire to enhance the work.
Pay close attention to the choosing of the type face. Be sure it makes sense in the image and enhances the feeling of the work.
Try several arrangements of all the final elements; illustration, text , border and colors.
When you choose a final composition save one full size and make one sheet with the actual stamp size.
Hint* Create one stamp size, use the guides and grid (ctrl : and ctrl ;) Save the work.
