Photoshop allows us to create amazing images using everyday objects.
Many graphic designers and artists use Photoshop for advertising design and fine art applications.
Follow the instructions below to complete the tutorial for the split image project.
Step One:

Create a new RGB document, 5 x 7 inches, 72 resolution and transparent background. Go to the graphic design page and download the images orange bottle and orange slice and drag both of these images into your file. Use the move tool (v) to drag the images from the web page directly into photoshop.
Photoshop will make a new layer for each of the two objects you drag into the file. Look at your layers palette to see each of the objects.

Resize the orange bottle to fit on to the page. Use the transform tool to make the bottle smaller. (command T.)
Go under Filter, distort and choose Spherize , enter 25% for the amount,
click ok. Be sure the bottle still fits on the page. You will be splitting the image so leave room for thus operation.
Delete the white background from the bottle using the magic wand tool. You will have to change the tolerence in the options box to a lower number in order to select only the background of the image. Experiment with different settings until you have deleted the white.

Step two:

Press "m" to choose the rectangular marquee tool and make a selection of the left side of the bottle just below the bottle cap and down to the bottom of the bottle. (see example)

Use command/shift J to place the left side of the object on a new layer. This will make it easier to manipulate.

Use control - T to bring up free transform. Move your cursor outside the free transform box , a curved line with arrowheads will appear, rotate the selection counter clockwise to tilt this section of the bottle, then click inside the bounding box and drag it down and toward the left to align it with the bottom of the other half of the bottle, press enter, press control d to deselect.

Step three:

Select the orange slice layer. duplicate the layer and turn one layer off, you will use this for the other side of the bottle. Press control t to bring up free transform, distort, use the center adjustment points at the top and sides to resize and distort the image to fit the right part of the sliced bottle, press enter. Use the zoom tool to see the edges of the image up close. Check your alignment.

Step Four:

Select the Duplicate the orange slice layer. Press control t to bring up free transform, right click in the center of the free transfrom box and choose flip
vertical from the pop up menu.

Step Five:

Rotate and reposition this slice over the left part of the sliced bottle (you may have to move the adjustment points slightly to match the bottle portion, press enter. Use the zoom tool to check your alignment.

Step six:

Go to the layers palette and click on the other orange slice, choose the marquee tool and make a selection of the left side of the bottle slice only,

Step Seven:

Go under filter, distort, and choose shear, add an adjustment point to the center line by clicking on the line with the mouse, move it toward the left, click ok. This will make the orange slice bend slightly to fit into the bottle.

Setp eight:

Press v to choose the move tool and reposition the sliced bottle under the orange slice (use free transform if you need to rotate the left bottle slice into place. Press control D to deselect. Manipulate the slice until it looks like it should fit into the bottle.

Step nine:

In the layers palette, click in the column next to the eye icons on the bottle layers, now go to the pop down menu in the layers palette and choose merge linked. (or go to Layer/merge linked)

Step 10:

click on the new layer icon in the layers palette to create a new layer , then move this new layer below the other layer of the slices. Use the technique to create the drop shadow which you learned in the duck and the dune project.
